I drive over an hour away to get food at this place! So good! Great service. We've tried the jerk chicken and oxtails and it never disappoints!

This place is the real deal authentic Jamaican cuisine, what's not to love . I've been 3 times in the last two weeks . Sometimes there are long wait times but it's well worth the wait ,great portion and the food is flavorful .

Food is very very good! U won't be disappointed u get a lot for ur money and it's very filling the service is attentive and pleasant the place is clean and inviting Will go again!!!

My husband happened to notice this restaurant sitting back off the street as he pasted by. We decided to try it and WOW! Talk about great Jamaican cuisine this is it! The place is small but the flavor of the food is HUGE! The owners are fantastic, friendly and very kind! I grabbed a few business cards and I've recommended Yummi Xpress to everyone I know. When I talk about the food people wanna know where so I hand them a card lol I rarely promote anything like that. I told my sister when she and her teens visit this summer this will be one of our meals. My husband goes so often they know him by name but then they greet everyone like they know them by name! I invite you to give them a try but must warn you you're gonna get hooked! ENJOY!

So decided to go to this place because I have been craving Jamaican food, let's proceed. Venue: I'm not going to lie when I pulled up the parking lot was being worked on and the venue kind of looked suspect. However, When you go inside there's a left section a right section, and about four tables where you can sit and dine in (two tables on each side). Then you walk up to a glass where you put in your order. The inside was clean. The only thing was their door every time it closed kept making a loud banging noise so it was alarming until you got used to it. We decided to dine in and I'm glad we did. Would I come here on a date, naaa. But would I come here with the family and some friends for sure (which I did). Service: First of all you know there's that stereotype that if you go to a Jamaican restaurant and the service is bad the food is going to be amazing? ROFL. Honestly, I was scared because the guy who greeted us, Jason, was super nice. So in my head, I'm thinking oh man this food is about to be horrible lol. Jason is one of those people with an energetic, charismatic personality and he spoke with such kindness and happiness. I was thinking to myself whatever he's on I'm trying to get on it as well l, to be as happy as he is. Throughout the whole meal, he checked on us, made sure we were good and asked for our opinions. There was also another lady who came out and greeted us as well as very nice people. Amazing service!!!!!! Once again amazing service! Shout out to Jason! Food: like I said after the great service we received I wasn't feeling too hopeful about the food being good rofl. However, let me state this, I'm actually upset that I went into this establishment because now I have to figure out how I am going to budget for coming here so often. The food was unbelievably delicious!!!!! Danggggggg. (Punches air) l wish the food was nasty so I could not go back but it's nootttt. I'm about to go broke coming here every day almost ugh. They should start a loyalty program rofl. I got the Oxtail, on everything, this was so fresh and hot. Some of the best oxtail I've eaten. I've noticed a lot of Jamaican restaurants making their oxtails overly sweet but this was perfect. Like the gravy was really really good. The only thing I should have done was ask for more gravy which Jason told me I could have done after the food was gone lol. I know for next time. The rice was good. Let me say this, I don't even like cabbage but the way I smashedddddd. I legit inhaled all the food. My friend got the chicken curry. That chicken curry was seasoned just right not too salty not under season but perfect for dipping my beef patty in. My sister got the jerk chicken and when I say it tasted like they were killing the chicken and smoking it out in the back babbbyyyy!!!!! Whew, lord the way I'm trying not to go there while writing this ugh. I also ordered the festivals...... Just buy two orders trust me. Listen I could go on and on about the food let me just do the cons because it's easier. The only thing I wasn't too fond of was the plantains I feel like they were overly cooked I like mine's little bit firmer but to each their own they were still not bad. And the drink I got the Sorel was good but it was overly sweet. However, once I started eating the sweetness definitely went right along with the savoryness of the food. Price: for the oxtail, jerk chicken, two orders of festivals, two drinks I paid around $46. Not bad at all because the way I was eating all I could think about was my bills about to be $100 and it wasn't so I was happy. Pricing isn't bad. Yall know oxtail expensive! Lol Summary of you can't read all that lol. Do I recommend this place I sure the heck do! One of the best Jamaican restaurants in Cincinnati, I would say. I'm trying get a part time job here so I can eat for the freeeeeee. Hahaha. 10 outta 10 would recommend!!!!!

Very friendly staff. I ordered the jerk chicken and ox tails. Both dishes were mildly spiced. I was offered a sample of the curry chicken. At first bite, I knew I made a mistake with my order. The curry chicken was excellent!!! The place is small with only a few places to sit but the food is worth a try. Check them out.

First time here and this has been a pleasant experience. We were greeted very warmly and welcoming. My sister and I ordered the jerk chicken and curry chicken. The place wasn't too busy and we waited about 15-20 minutes for our order to be completed. We quietly sat and listened to a nice mix of popular Jamaican hits to keep us entertained. Here's my take on the food: Jerk chicken: Tender. Smokey. Flavorful. Unfortunately not spicy. Everyone makes their jerk differently and in my opinion the flavor of the chicken makes up for the lack of heat that I was anticipating. Curry chicken: Pretty good, very tender. A good amount of flavor. Vegetables: The cooked/steamed perfectly with the right amount of flavor. Rice and peas: A bit on the mellow side when it comes to flavor but it's a good consistency in texture. It serves its purpose in soaking up the flavors of the entrée to provide a balanced experience without being overwhelmed. I will definitely come back and I encourage others to give this place a try.

Definitely treat every time I visit. It's easy to miss this little gem that's tucked away in Avondale, but it's worth a try. It's best to call ahead and provide yourself 30 mins-1hr for food to be prepared. Otherwise, you can order at the window and wait until it's ready. Friendly service with a steady flow of ppl. I have never sat in the place, but it's always busy.

I ordered the jerk and cabbage and OMGoodness! The dish was bursting with flavor!!! The smokiness of the chicken, the ginger, allspice and pepper I could clearly distinguish, it was all good. Because it is a "carryout only" spot (curbside for now) and it was my first time dining there, I figured I should take a couple of bites before I left. Well, I ended up devouring most of it before I drove off. Lol If you enjoy Jamaican food, this is it! In all transparency, the people in the surrounding area initially had me on guard, but proved to be unbothersome. Don't let that deter your visit.
